How do you become a Muslim?

The Seeking Islam page is here to help anyone who is starting to think about Islam and who wants to find out what it means to become a Muslim.

Many people have gone down this same path before you and have converted to Islam. We have all come from different backgrounds – some already had a faith in God before coming to Islam but many people were agnostics or atheists and didn’t believe in God or have time for religion.

Here, you will find the stories of some of us who have already made the journey to Islam and become Muslims. You will also find some useful information that will help you answer some of the questions you may have about becoming a Muslim.

May God guide you on this journey you may be taking and may He guide you to the Straight Path.

We would like to reassure you that you are not alone and that others have gone down this path before you – us included.

You might be a bit worried at what is happening to you so please email us with any questions that you may have about Islam or becoming a Muslim …

The greatest help for you on this journey is to simply ask God for His help.

Ask Allah for help

Ask Allah for help

If you don’t know how to ask Allah  for help, then just sit down in a quiet place and speak to Him. You can do this out loud or in the stillness of your heart.

Sit on a chair or on the floor. Kneel, if that is what you feel comfortable doing.

Ask God to guide you and help you. To guide you on a straight path to Him.

You should also read the Qur’an.

There is so much in there that will help you make sense of everything.

Get yourself an easy-to-read version of the Qur’an in English.

If you can’t find a Qur’an in a local shop, or perhaps you are too timid to go in and buy it, we will be more than happy to send you a good copy..

It will really help you if you ask Allah  for His guidance and His help in understanding what you are reading every time you sit down to read the Qur’an.

Say to Allah  – “Guide me on the straight path”.

Take your time. If you come across something that you don’t quite understand, read it a few times to see if you can make sense of it. Write it down so that you can try and find out the answer later.

Surah al-Fatihah
The Opening

We ask that Allah , the Most High,  guides you on a straight path and helps you with every step you take and with every thought you have.

May Allah ﷻ  grant you success on this journey that you are embarking on. Great-Allah-HD-Wallpaper

Jazakallah khairan for putting this up. Wonderful story Alan and Stella. You guys are such a great example for us to follow . Keep up the good work.

JazakAllah for your kind comment, Zakir. Both Stella’s and my story of coming to Islam show some of the different ways in which Allah can move in peoples lives to bring them into the fold of Islam. We hope to add a few more stories of people we know who have converted to Islam over the next wee while. I pray that people thinking about Islam as a path in life for them, and seeking Allah in their lives, will find these stories helpful and encouraging. There are many more Stella’s and Alan’s out there. May Allah guide them. SubhanAllah.
